He has been a certified master  firearms instructor in Illinois since 1988 as a state certified firearms instructor for revolver, pistol,  rifle, shotgun and SMG. Tactical Urban Rifle
The focus of this course is to develop the skills necessary to engage single & multiple threats at varying distances. To develop the ability to move as a team, shoot, and use cover. The student will be provided with information to better understand the strong and weak points of the rifle and it’s ammunition.

Instructor: Senior Investigator Mike Rodriquez has 14 years with the New York County District Attorney’s Office and is currently the Senior Firearms Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor for the District Attorney’s Office. Mike has spent 6 years as a narcotics undercover officer working with the DEA Task Force, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, and various NYPD Units. He is a graduate of Gunsite, Blackwater, and has been a member of IALEFI® for 6 years.

Student requirements: Rifle with sling, 4 magazines, 500 rnds ammunition,  tactical gloves desirable.

Prevailing in Reduced Light Conditions: Patrol Rifle
Many law enforcement officers are afforded limited opportunity to train in reduced light environments. Considering that most police shootings have historically occurred in less than optimum light, this situation is less than satisfactory. This block of instruction will explore the use of the patrol rifle as a reduced light fighting tool. Techniques which maximize the operators ability to hit under adverse conditions will be addressed.

Instructor: Capt. Boyle is the Training Administrator for the New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife, Bureau of Law Enforcement and an instructor with the Streamlight Academy. He is also a police academy instructor and Rangemaster and the author of over 300 published articles, including several on the subject of reduced light shooting. Mike serves on the IALEFI® Board of Directors where he chairs the Regional Training Committee.

Student requirements: Rifle with sling, spare magazines, 200 rounds of rifle ammunition, pistol with 50 rounds of ammunition, hand held flashlight, weapon mounted light if available.

Test Protocol – Rifle Ammunition
Students will have the opportunity to test various types of rifle ammunition in accordance with protocol established by the FBI. Ammunition will be fired into calibrated ballistic gelatin and through barriers common in actual police shootings.

Instructor: This course will be presented by representatives of ATK. (Formerly BLOUNT, Inc)

Student requirements:  Pen/pencil notebook. Students are encouraged to bring any rifle ammunition they want to evaluate.
