| Course Description: Many firearms instructors can
lecture on handgun topics when following a lesson plan, but lack the
skill required to motivate a group of experienced police officers to
change their attitude and move to the next level of performance.
This course will emphasize the importance of moving the student from
the fundamentals of shooting to emphasizing the dynamics involved in
“Combative Handgun” skills. Emphasis will be placed on the proper instruction of these methods as well as building the instructor’s skill level so that they become confident enough to demonstrate proper techniques enabling the student to develop proper modeling methods. Diagnosing shooting problems will also be covered. Instructors Instructor Dave Spaulding recently retired as a Lieutenant from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office after 28 years of service. He worked on all facets of law enforcement including corrections, patrol, investigations, SWAT, undercover operations and training. He is the author of two books titled Defensive Living and Handgun Combatives. Student requirements: Pistol, holster, proper belt, two spare magazines, eye and ear protection, billed style hat and 500 rounds of ammo. |
