Combined Tactics Drill With Emphasis on Use of Handgun
In an effort to find the holy grail of firearms training, most departments/agencies are continually met with time and budgetary constraints. The result is that instructors are forced to repeatedly utilize known-distance/known-time square-range scenarios wherein they do little more than re-visit the fundamentals of marksmanship. The result is that many officers remain on a plateau from which they rarely graduate and more advanced students are denied skills progress. This course is designed to provide trainers with alternatives to that end by encouraging their students to approach training with a proper winning mind-set and through the incorporation of  more challenging and realistic skill-building drills.

Instructor: Mike Craig is currently assigned as a full-time firearms/tactics instructor for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Prior to joining the law-enforcement community, he served on the Protective Force Special Response Team at Sandia National Laboratories and received tactical training from the Department of Energy Central Training Academy. He has attended Gunsite, Yavapai Academy and holds instructor certifications from the law-enforcement divisions of  Heckler & Koch and the National Rifle Association.

Student requirements: Duty handgun, duty leather-gear, 200 rounds pistol, eye/ear protection, elbow/knee pads(optional.) Attendees should wear long pants and be prepared for inclement weather.

Close Quarters Shooting
Every police officers knows that in our job, we must get up close and personal with real and dangerous people. This goes against everything we are taught about survival in combat situations. Still we cannot keep the distance most of us want to be safe. That is why we need to be able to shoot fast and accurately in close quarters.  This course will show shooters how to draw, mount, and fire the weapon in very close situations and how to survive deadly encounters in the street distances we encounter in real life.

Instructor: Sgt. Michial Dunlap is a 27 year veteran of the Amarillo Police Department where he has been the range master and lead firearms instructor for the past 13 years. Michial has taught at several IALEFI® Annual Training Conferences, Regional Training Conferences, and an ASLET Regional Training Conference. Michial was the guest of the Brazilian Government 3 times to teach firearms and police tactics to the local, state, and federal officers. Michial serves as the Secretary of IALEFI® and is also the Training Coordinator.

Student requirements: Duty leather gear, duty weapon, 300 rounds ammo and soft body armor is recommended.

Confined Space/Linear Target Engagement
Constricted space or linear space engagements are always "up close and personal," so that the tactics of time, distance and cover that are applicable under other circumstances don't apply.  In a close encounter of the first kind, you need to be capable of properly handling, maneuvering and employing your weapon in any situation you may find yourself thrust in to. In constricted space combat the urge to fight or flight will be instantaneous. Learned constricted space weapons movements and shooting techniques are a must and essential to your professional development and your self preservation.

Instructor: Chief Deputy Kenneth Farren has 25 years experience as a law enforcement officer, a certified Firearms Instructor, and an expert in SWAT tactics. Chief Farren has taught across the nation and abroad in Combat Tactics. He is the survivor of five deadly encounters.

Student requirements: Duty leather gear, duty weapon, 500 rounds ammo and soft body armor is recommended.
