A timer will be used during this training which places induced stress along with a measurable method of determining your skills. We will also be conducting elimination drills on both paper and steel targets.

Close Quarter Strategies: 1-2-3 Hit
Professor David B. James

Many law enforcement officers erroneously believe that they can prevail against an opponent in close quarters merely because they have a gun. The reality of such attacks is there will be little time and opportunity to access the handgun once your opponent has initiated the attack. This block of instruction will focus on some different strategies to better prepare an officer against a surprise attack in close quarters. Empty hand, knife, and disarm threats will be addressed.

Instructor - Professor David B. James is the chief instructor of Vee Arnis Jitsu and an inductee into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Professor James is a leading proponent of practical forms of self protection has taught a variety of law enforcement and corrections professionals. He is also the creator of 1-2-3 Hit Self Defense Techniques.

Bring: Duty belt and training handgun (red gun) if available baton, and clothing suitable for vigorous physical activity.

Optional EVENING  PROGRAM
Tactical Problem Solving
Fernando Trujillo
Union City New Jersey Police Department

Do your students experience weapon hang-ups that cause them to fumble and lose track of the real problem at hand? Are they wasting valuable time on operational skills when they should be shooting? The primary cause of weapon unfamiliarity is a lack of proper basic weapon handling skills. Students will be reacquainted with the basics plus a few new tricks. Skills will be assessed through several timed live fire drills.

Instructor - Fernando Trujillo is a full time firearms instructor with the Union City New Jersey Police Department and a serious student of combat pistol craft. Fernando has completed training at several of the well known firearms schools.

Bring: Pistol, duty gear, 100 rounds of pistol ammo, shotgun will 50 rounds of 00 buck. (Shotguns will be available if needed.)
