Arrest, Control, and Unconventional Shooting Techniques
Lt. Mike Beckley – Retired
Nassau County Police Department
This 8 hour course is designed to increase the student’s skills in teaching officers from their agencies new methods of approaching and controlling suspicious subjects. Subjects covered will include proper stop and frisk techniques and unknown risk arrest techniques.

Instructor - Lt. Michael Beckley is a former president of IALEFI® and a founding member of the organization. He recently completed forty years of service with the Nassau County Police Department on Long Island, New York. He currently serves on the N.R.A. Law Enforcement Assistance Committee. Lt. Beckley has been a pioneer in high stress tactical shooting programs and has taught at numerous IALEFI® and N.R.A. programs throughout the country. He is also a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy.

Bring: Duty weapon and gear, including handcuffs (an extra pair if possible) 150 rounds of ammunition.


 

SWAT Pistol Techniques
Sgt. Tim Williams
Amarillo Police Department


Sgt. Williams and members of the Amarillo SWAT Team have attended the very best SWAT Shooting Schools in the nation. They will be utilizing these different  shooting techniques in drills designed to improve your moving and shooting. While the amount of ammunition required for this course is high (500 rounds) the training courses you will be able to take back to  your agency will be worth it.

Instructor – Sgt. Tim Williams is a 23 year veteran of the Amarillo Police Department and currently the commander of the SWAT Team. He has taught for the Texas Narcotics Officers Association, U.S. Marine Corps., Brazilian Civil and Military Police, and IALEFI® Regional and Annual Conferences. Tim is presently a Regional Director for the Texas Tactical Police Association.

Bring: duty belt and equipment, handgun with speed loaders or magazines, and 500 rounds of ammunition. Body armor is required.



Helping the Problem Shooters…A New Look

This 8 hour course will expose the students to a new technique of helping problems shooters. The students will be able to see mistakes made by themselves, fellow students, and others through active participation and videos. There will be new equipment available to use and evaluate how to help your problem shooters. This will be both a classroom and shooting course and will utilize Simunition rounds.

Instructor – Lt. Kenneth Dougherty has been a police officer for over 20 years. He holds a Master Peace Officers Certificate, Firearms Instructor Certificate, and numerous others. Ken is currently the Director of Training and Personnel for the Potter County Sheriff’s Office.

Bring: Pen/pencil duty weapon and gear, old clothes for Simunition rounds, groin protection and gloves (if possible) Note: All Simunition gear will be provided.

    •    Participants are asked to report to the Potter County Sheriff’s Department Range at 0730 hrs. on the 22nd  for final check-in.
    •    All range activities require a hat, wrap around eye protection and ear protection, and soft body armor is recommended.
    •    All participants who have not already done so will be required to participate in a brief IALEFI® safety check prior to any range activity.
Eligibility: Attendees must be a member of IALEFI® or a certified law enforcement officer. THIS CONFERENCE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 40 people who send in their registration and conference fee or purchase orders etc. IALEFI® will invoice your Department and/or agency if so requested.
Cost: Member               $150.00 
Non-member       $200.00

Note:   Non-member conference fee includes one year of Associate Membership to IALEFI® (Full membership with approved credentials).
